WHAT WE DO
Children’s Alliance is Washington’s statewide, nonpartisan child advocacy organization. We help people tap into their personal political power so they can advocate for change in their communities. We partner with families, lawmakers, community leaders, service providers and policy experts to develop antiracist policy solutions that improve the lives of Washington kids and build a better shared future for all of us.
We provide our partners and members with the tools they need to stand up for kids and live their values. Across Washington, our robust network of child advocates includes over 7000 individual members and 125 organizations. Together, we speak with one unified voice to demand that our elected representatives and government leaders prioritize the needs of kids and their families.
We don’t work alone. Children’s Alliance convenes and participates in statewide coalitions, like the Early Learning Action Alliance and the Washington Dental Access Campaign, that build collective power and strengthen our movement.
As a KIDS COUNT state partner with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, we gather and analyze the best emerging data on how kids are doing in our state. By pairing hard data with personal stories from community members, we can help policymakers recognize and remove the barriers to opportunity that many of our state’s children face.
Throughout our 40-year history, Children’s Alliance has continually pushed for positive changes to the laws that shape the lives of our youngest Washingtonians. We have a track record of setting and reaching ambitious goals, and we will not rest until every child in in our state grows up with an abundance of opportunities to help them reach their vast potential.
