What We Do

Child holding an adult's handAt the Children’s Alliance, we’re advocates for kids. We ensure that laws, policies and programs work for kids, and we hold our leaders accountable until they secure the resources required to make all children safe and healthy.

We protect kids by changing laws.

Laws should help families protect kids. If they don’t, they need to be changed. We do whatever is needed – push, persuade, demand – to make sure our leaders pass laws that do right by kids.

We serve kids by making sure programs and policies work.

Children’s programs must work for kids and families. If they don’t, they have to be fixed. We work with state leaders and agencies to make sure that kids get what they need, when they need it, and how they need it.

We put kids first by securing resources.

Programs and policies don’t work without money. Budgets reflect priorities. Each legislative session – and throughout the year – the Children’s Alliance makes sure that kids come first. We do what it takes to ensure that state leaders fund what children need.

We advocate for kids by holding lawmakers accountable.

Lawmakers can’t do it alone. It’s time for all of us to stand up for kids so they get what they need. By joining and supporting the Children’s Alliance, you, and thousands of others just like you, are making kids’ lives better. We’ll not only give you what you need to do right by kids – we’ll also help you live your beliefs, connect your passion to action, and walk your talk.
