NEW OPPORTUNITIES, SAME MISSION
This year, lawmakers have 60 days to pass bills and invest public funding to move justice for kids. At Children’s Alliance, we work with parents, policymakers, and community leaders to advance policies that break down the barriers that systemic racism puts in the way of kids and families in low-income communities and communities of color. Once again, we need you to take action to ensure lawmakers work in three key areas to build the strong, shared future every child deserves:
Health Care for Kids and Families
Oral health is vital to overall health, but many Washingtonians don’t have access to dental care. Legislators should pass HB 1317 to expand dental therapy and bring urgently needed oral health care to kids and families statewide.
Early investments pay lifelong dividends. Adopt and sustainably fund policies to expand access to high-quality, culturally relevant opportunities for babies, toddlers and preschool-age children.
REVENUE TO INVEST IN KIDS
Kids and families count on strong public investments in good times and bad. Close wasteful tax breaks and adopt new sources of revenue, including a capital gains tax.
COLLECTIVE ACTION, COLLECTIVE POWER
YOU make policy work for kids. Our legislators need to hear your stories and what's important to you and your family. Here are some ways you can get involved in moving justice for kids this legislative session:
HAVE A HEART FOR KIDS DAY
