Have a Heart for Kids Day 2020

Update: Victory for kids' health!

On Saturday, January 31st Governor Gregoire and House Speaker Frank Chopp announced that our state's Apple Health for Kids program will move forward with covering uninsured children up to 300% of the poverty line -coverage that had been suspended since December 18th, 2008.

The protection of Apple Health is a victory for kids and it's big news. In an editorial on Friday, January 30th the Seattle Times not only praised state leaders for restoring the coverage - but also made a reference to the  testimony of parents at the state legislature. You can watch Vicky McIntyre's testimony, featured in the I'm Counting On You Rally - happening right now on our website.

A separate article in the Seattle Times on Sunday, February 1st highlights how federal legislation moving through Congress will provide increased funds for children's health insurance in Washington State.

Take a moment now to thank legislative leaders who worked to protect Apple Health.
