In the 2018 legislative session, Children’s Alliance led our many partners across Washington to advocate for good public policy—laws and public investments that create opportunity for Washington’s children.
We backed an ambitious vision for quality early learning: House Bill 2659, which would have expanded eligibility for affordable, high-quality pre-kindergarten. When Congress and the President threatened kids’ health care, we led an effort to ensure stability and predictability in af-fordable Apple Health for Kids coverage. We urged the state leg-islature to increase family and community health among Pacific Islander Washingtonians. And we called on lawmakers to raise revenue for services kids and families need.
