Gillian Murphy comes to Children's Alliance via a career that has included being a radio operator on the Greenpeace ships, doing graduate work studying social movements, and teaching sociology. She has a deep respect for front-line agents of progressive social change, and is committed to using her technical skills to support their work.
She spent her early childhood in New Orleans, her late childhood in New York, and lived in North Carolina off and on as an adult. Seattle has been home since 1999. Gillian studied journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed her Master’s degree in sociology at the University of Washington.
